this is barely 'about nu metal' it's just me yapping about my own opinions for the most part, that's why i say go check out the actually helpful wiki, or read this if youd like to hear what i have to say...

my short explanation: i guess nu metals like a salad of genres except it actually tastes good...i'd say metals the lettuce n raps the sauce..then there's all the other stuff duh. it came from california in 1993 from korns neidermayers mind apparently..which is obvious n...it was popular in around 1997 till what like 2004 n now it's pretty popular again which is nice... n i don't really know how to describe how it sounds cuz 1. im shit at descriptions 2. alotta bands are way different. mostly rapping but also singing and screaming yk.. some bands have djs yea.. this 'explanation' helps with nothing but it's something. go listen for yourself if you wanna know how it sounds.

arguments: alotta ppl say its just angry suburban white kid music or cookie monsters singing about getting touched or hating stuff but its more than that if u dont like it go back to listening to coldplay or some other gay bs but 1 thats only korn static n coal chamber who have singers that sound like that but like every band has different sounding vocals n stuff n not all of them sing bout hating everything or being touched in strange ways 2 like tons of the most popular bands got not white ppl in it like hed pe linkin park sevendust primer 55 kittie 40 below ect n another thing is ppl who listen to heavier music than nu metal n think nu metal isn't metal just cause it's less heavy it's called nu METAL for a reason. (OPINION incoming.) i've listened to alot of yk heavier genres, and yk i like it and stuff, i like listening to heavier stuff once in a while... but nu metals just better! in every aspect...

a lot of ppl hate nu metal for stupid reasons like them thinking all nu metal fans are corny white kids or the frontmen being cocky or whatever... to them... like fred durst but he ain't even bad, i love him. nu metal is better than everything!!! (just my opinion. feel free to disagree, i just think your stupid. i'm joking!!!!!) and a lot of NU METAL bands deny them being nu metal. my guess would be to be taken more seriously. or cuz again not a lot of people see nu metal very greatly or whatever...which is bs. i'd say cuz most people just see jackasses who think anthony fantanos a good music reviewer say "nu metal sucks!" and everyone else decides to follow. i'm ok with not liking nu metal, we all have our preferences, but being a big asshole always hating on it for stupid reasons is gay. nu metal is great when you actually listen and look into it.

OPINIONS! this is my site i can share as many opinions as i want.: best nu metal band: not my favorite, but instead the best. (popularity included) limp bizkit. i'm just saying man, if we're talking like SERIOUS bands then maybe i'll go with korn or snot. limp bizkit is perfect nu metal, and it's like the first thing people think of when they hear limp bizkit! my opinion, they have NO bad songs and they never stopped being nu metal like a lot of other bands, and they stayed good along with it. their most recent album released like 3 years ago was kickass, and i can't say the same for stuff like slipknot. they're self aware, fun (not to be taken seriously) while still having songs with angsty or relatable lyrics, the band members are cool (except for dj lethal apparently..he seems like he'd be an ass, just being honest..) EVEN fred durst. people say he's a dick but he really isn't. the whole "limp bizkit sucks" thing said by non-lb fans is so 2013 and stupid. just accept limp bizkit is always the best. a lot of (even nu metal fans) say limp bizkit was the WORST but that honestly just isn't true, use your brain man. even crazy town, saliva, staind (ok they're definitely not GREAT but they aren't that bad.) and other bands that are called the "worst of nu metal" are good. people just wanna follow what everyone else says and think they're bad, when if you really listen, they aren't. wanna know the real worse? DISTURBED, they suck fucking dick, like that down with the sickness song was honestly pure ass. and i just learned they suck israels dick too and signed artillery shells, awesome. and the singer says he's 'pro peace', sure man. another reason to hate them! another, VANILLA ICE. yea, he made nu metal. and honestly it wasn't that bad, but it's vanilla ice. i hate him. that ice ice baby song is so buns (although it's one of his 'RAP' songs) so obviously i'm gonna say he's ONE OF the worst. also i would also say linkin park as ONE of the best but exclude their non nu metal albums, i like that they did them to be taken more seriously, but i don't think they're that good. their nu metal albums are the best, hybrid theory being one of the best of all time. best nu metal vocalist: (this time not including popularity.) fight me on this bro, max illidge of 40 below summer is..ok i'll say ONE OF the best cuz there's a lot of 'bests' for me. when live, he sounds exactly like the songs and has a unique voice, great at singing and screaming, is a cool dude with a cute dog. other people i would choose for best vocalist, singer, whatever. would be: lynn strait, chester bennington, paul watkins (of malachi crunch), j-sin luttrell, cliff rigano, jonathan davis, jared gomes, nate wallace ("but his voice cracked at that show" nobody cares, urs would too fag), best nu metal guitarist: wes borland. remember i'm including character here..also eddie the kydd (of darwins waiting room) who funnily..looks a lot like wes best nu metal drummer: jamie miller (of snot) or andy cyrulnik (of factory 81) best nu metal dj: mr hahn dj maick or dj elliot ness (of spyndakit). mr hahns again a cool guy n his dj skillz r awesome, duh. best nu metal bassist: ryan (mudvayne), shavo or fieldy (if we take out character...) best nu metal cover: korn + chino's wicked, factory 81's insane in the brain, folder's it's tricky, kink's you spin me round, linea 77's walk like an egyptian, soad's shame, 20 dead flower children's safety dance (i honestly didn't even know this one was a cover), and grade 8's celebrate.

if you have any opinions against these, i honestly really love to hear opinions about my music or my own opinions, good or bad. maybe you'll get me to change my mind! (and i don't wanna hear anything from nu-metal haters) sorry if i sound like an ass here, we all got strong opinions!

i made this site cuz i love nu metal a TON TON TON it's my favorite thing on this planet, and i PLAN to (haven't gotten to it yet, sorry.) write about bands that don't have as much popularity as they should, and share the music i like and info about it, so that more people can enjoy it the same way i do. the thing i want the most in this world is for everyone to hear what i have to share and all these great bands!!! also for other nu metal fans to see and discuss. you can check the updates on the home section for what i'm doing at the moment.
